Warranty and Rectification Policy
How we handle workmanship concerns, parts issues and follow-up inspection.
Document code: CME-WARRANTY-2026-01
This policy explains how CME handles workmanship concerns, supplied parts, customer-supplied parts and follow-up inspection. It should be read with our Terms and Conditions.
1. No fixed period stated here
This website does not promise a fixed workmanship warranty period. If CME adopts a fixed period for a job, maintenance contract or class of work, it should be stated in the quote, invoice, contract or written confirmation for that work.
2. Workmanship
CME is responsible for performing services with reasonable care and skill. If you believe there is a workmanship issue, tell us promptly and give us enough information to identify the asset, job, date, symptom and affected system.
3. Inspection and rectification opportunity
- We may need to inspect the asset, review photographs, run tests, or check operating conditions before deciding whether an issue is connected to CME workmanship.
- Where a workmanship issue is accepted, we should have a reasonable opportunity to repeat performance, repair, adjust or otherwise rectify the issue where that is appropriate and lawful.
- Customers should not incur disproportionate third-party costs and then seek recovery from CME without first giving us a fair chance to inspect, unless immediate third-party action was reasonably necessary for safety, damage prevention or legal compliance.
4. Parts supplied by CME
Parts supplied by CME may carry a manufacturer, supplier or distributor warranty. Those warranties are separate from CME workmanship. Where a parts issue appears to involve a supplier or manufacturer, we may need photographs, serial numbers, returned parts, operating data or other evidence to support the claim.
5. Customer-supplied parts
If a customer supplies parts, batteries, filters, electronics, lubricants, engines, components or accessories, CME does not warrant the product itself, its provenance, completeness, compatibility or manufacturer performance. CME remains responsible for its own fitting workmanship where we agree to fit the item.
6. Exclusions and limits
Where legally permissible, rectification or warranty support may not cover issues caused by normal wear, corrosion not arising from CME workmanship, neglect, misuse, contamination, incorrect operation, lack of maintenance, continued use after a known fault, third-party interference, customer-supplied defective parts, unrelated failures, hidden defects or operating conditions outside the agreed scope.
7. Consumer rights
If you are a consumer, this policy does not remove statutory remedies that cannot lawfully be restricted, including remedies for services not performed with reasonable care and skill.
8. How to raise a concern
Contact us with the job reference, asset name, affected system, symptom, date noticed, relevant photographs and any steps taken since the issue appeared. If the matter is also a complaint, our Complaints Procedure explains the review process.
